The Pursuit of Clean Water
There are many buzz words in the world of water filtration these days. “Pure”, “Clean”, “Filtered”. All are words we identify with in our aim to consume the vital “life blood” for our bodies to function. But is the water being sent to us from our local water companies through our cities and towns infrastructure pipe systems healthy and pure?
As with many things I would encourage you to take the role of being your own caretaker to safeguard you and your family’s health in this matter. Simply request from whomever you receive your water bill, a chart of what is actually present in the water you are receiving and paying for on a monthly basis. It will be online or they will mail you an explanation. But be warned, after reading it, you will never feel the same about that clear liquid your filling your glasses with to drink out of the tap at home.
Once equipped with the knowledge that your water is not all that healthy and its contents will likely be linked to many health problems in the future. The question then is, What can I do to really clean it up? Sadly, Large companies in the name of profits have a million answers to that question in the form of marketing products and buzz words that don’t really hold water.
As with most research we endeavorer into, we have been, and will be deceived by product marketing and the insidious lies of greedy companies anxious to make a dollar off the real concerns of the public. The real truth is in the details. Most people commonly tell me “I only drink the filtered water from my fridge”. The question is, What is that filter doing? Answer, not much. Most of them remove most of the chlorine and then boast to remove particulates down to a level that is hardly helpful to actually remove most of what is in the City water. The sad truth is, this is true of 95% of what is sold and installed in peoples homes to clean up their water. Often the equipment is even adding things back into the water in the form of heavy metals that are utilized in is process.
After 23 years in the plumbing field, I’m not claiming I have all the answers to this dilemma. My goal in this is primarily to awaken you to the reality and put you on the path armed with skeptical discernment. My great hope is that you improve your health and your families health and take on the role of protecting yourselves. History has taught us, assuming others are watching out for are best interest can be to our peril.
Just for reference I utilize a whole house 5 stage filter system for incoming water and I home vapor distill most of my drinking and cooking water.
To your health,
